Riftstate playtest
Thanks for testing an early build of Riftstate, a strategy game about holding out after the end of the world. Play as much or as little as you like.
Before you start
- You need an Android phone with Android 8 or newer. Almost every phone from 2018 on works; very old 32-bit phones don't.
- You must be 18 or older.
- The app doesn't come from Google Play, so Android asks you to confirm the install.
Install
- Tap Download Riftstate. If Chrome says the file might be harmful, tap Download anyway.
- Open the downloaded file. If Android asks, allow Chrome to install apps: tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, and go back.
- Tap Install. If Play Protect doesn't recognise the app, tap More details, then Install anyway.
- On a Samsung phone, Auto Blocker may stop the install. Turn it off in Settings › Security and privacy › Auto Blocker, install, then turn it back on.
- Open Riftstate.
To update, download and install the new version over the old one. Don't uninstall the app: your account lives on your phone, so uninstalling loses it for good.
Your player ID
At the top of the game it says Signed in as, followed by 8 letters and digits. That's your player ID. Put it in your feedback, so we can match your feedback to what the game recorded.
Privacy
[Owner: check this section and fill in the brackets before inviting anyone.]
The playtest is run by [your name], [contact email]. While you play, the game records:
- what you do in the game, such as sessions, upgrades and claims, under a random ID that isn't your name or your phone's;
- your phone's offset from UTC, such as UTC+1, so we can tell your days apart;
- the app's version, and that it runs on Android;
- your internet address when you connect, in the server's logs, to stop abuse.
We use this only to learn how the playtest goes, and we don't share it. It's kept on a server in Germany, and deleted [N] days after the playtest ends. To have your data deleted sooner, send us your player ID.
